Istanbul Turkish Wooden House (Ottoman Mansions) Tour
During Ottoman empire many wooden houses were built and many are still standing today. Most of them are located in the old towns of Istanbul, along the Bosphorous and on the Princess Islands.
Some houses were divided to isolate males and females, though the family lived together.
The wood houses of Istanbul create
A fairytale fishing village, where children still talk under the ancient rickety eaves on the cobblestones below, while the old wood decays in the sunshine, and the gulls cry around the domes of the mosques in the distance.
This tour presents an ideal opportunity to see very old houses of the Ottoman Empire.
