The food served at the hotel kitchen is all organic. Breakfast is presented with home made bread, clotted cream, honeycomb and fresh fruit is served on a the pretty walled terrace in the summer months and in a naturally furnished cave room in the cooler months.

Gamirasu Cave Hotel Cappadocia Rooms

Gamirasu Cave Hotel Cappadocia is combination of exquisitely restored and combined seven old houses with eighteen rooms. Part of the hotel was used by Christian monks until recently. Some of the rooms were actually monk cells. The quality of the cave rooms make you feel cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Volcanic rock called "tuffa" is perfect insulation material which keeps the temperature between 17 - 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year.

Largest cave room in the hotel, about 70 square meters with the view of the Rose garden. Big sofa in traditional Cappadocian "sedir" style decorated with kilims and carpets of Cappadocia.

Gamirasu Cave Hotel Cappadocia FAMILY SUITE

It consists of two connected bedrooms, each having a door which can be locked or left open. The rooms open to a private hallway. One room has a large bed, the other one has two separate beds. Rooms have vaulted ceilings and valley view.

EVERYTHING FOR A DEEP SLEEP...

Gamirasu Cave Hotel Cappadocia rooms are carved in to the rock. Materials used for restoration are locally found natural volcanic stone. The mats are made out of cotton, no one of them contain any metal.

According to German partners who are doctors of Alternative Medicine, metal blocks the circulation of energy, this way you do not feel rested even after a long sleep. This is how you feel after a night in a concrete standard building. Gamirasu rooms and beds are designed for a complete harmony of human body with its surrounding. When you wake up, you are full of energy even after a short sleep. Nothing to disturb your sleep, except the sound of nature. You have the view of cave houses where ancient inhabitants lived, just outside of your window. You can watch women in the village who come with their pitcher to get their water from the communal fountain just next to the hotel. Once every two days the communal “Stone Oven” across the hotel is heated, if you walk out of your room and accept a warm welcome, you are invited to taste the hot bred just
coming out of the oven.

History

AYVALI VILLAGE - ARAVAN

Ayvali is 10 km to the south of Urgup. Take the road to Mustafapasa which is on the halfwaywhen leaving Urgup. After the first bridge leaving Urgup, follow the yellow sign pointing Mazikoy Roman tombs, and Ayvali village (misspelling Ayvalik). It is a peaceful small road with spectacular geographical formations.

PRE - HISTORICAL MONUMENTS

The Archaeologist Kemal Talih Turkmen (1949 - 1995) mentioned about this road as being used in Pre-historical Periods (Urgup, Bilinmeyen Kapadokya’dan bir kesit, Ankara 1999).

He discovered an “Obsidian Workshop” from the Stone Age and broken ceramics dated to Assyrian Colony period (2000-1600 BC) just 200m to the north of the same bridge. This small hillside could be used for several purposes for thousands of years.

EARLY CHRISTIAN BYZANTINE HERITAGE

The second bridge is right before you get to Ayvali is Haci Ismail Deresi Koprusu. Stop by and discover the Early Christian Byzantine cave churches with frescoes a 100m to the south of the bridge. It is a place reserved only for you. The fact that very few people now about this place and that the road is away from the main tourist destinations kept this place very unspoiled.

ICERIDERE VALLEY, UNDERGROUND CITY

The cave houses, an in-excavated underground city, cave potato and apple storage areas are all waiting to be discovered. Some villagers still come live in cave houses. There are many springs with sparkling water. A seven-kilometer long walking path brings you up to Golgoli ruins and Damsa Dam Lake.

CAPPADOCIA

Cappadocia is the historical name of the region in Central Turkey, 300 km South of Ankara, capital of Turkey.

Cappadocia of the Hittite times (2000-1200 BC) was a large area of Central East and Southern Turkey.

Modern Cappadocia refers to a geographical area covering the valleys of Goreme, town of Urgup with fairy chimneys, Derinkuyu and Kaymakli underground cities, center of ceramic art in Avanos, panoramic castle of Uchisar, the Canyon of Ihlara near Guzelyurt and Kayseri.

Kayseri has the highest mountain of the region Erciyes (Argeus) which also is a ski center between November and March.
